Thankyou for Your Help!
Sponsorship:
Sponsorship Funds are pooled (within each Home) to ensure equal provision for all children.
A monthly sponsorship contribution of $30 AUD (approx $25 USD) will help provide day-to-day expenses for children in homes that are not yet able to support themselves. Sponsorship includes food, clothing, medical and educational costs. Each child needs a total of 4-5 sponsors (this is reduced for homes that are able to provide some of their own support).
Sponsors can nominate a particular Children’s Home, or we can select for you.
Youth Scholarships:
For young people in the BridgeWorks Transition Program. To fund / enable further education and provide a viable future option for those in their mid-teens. These funds will allow for living costs and education/training costs to enable them to learn a trade and ultimately paid employment. Sponsors that can commit to $50 AUD (approx $40 USD) a month per youth are being sought for this (up to 4 sponsors per youth are needed).
Sponsors will be allocated a young person in the program that they can also correspond with if they wish.
Rice Cultivation:
Rice Seedlings:
For homes that do not yet have self-suffient rice crops. $10 (AUD) purchases 250 sq mtrs of rice seedlings.
Equipment:
Irrigation pumps – $500 (AUD) each
Bore pumps – $480 (AUD) each
Sump pumps – $380 (AUD) each
Tractor – $28,000 (AUD)
Hand Tillers – $760 (AUD) each
Other Agricultural Projects:
Vegie Gardening is well under way by the BridgeWorks Centre youth, Pon Jaak Faa, and Baan Birk Faa. Donations for seed, fertiliser and equipment are gratefully received!
Piglets will need to be purchased soon for the beginning of the Pig raising & breeding Project. Good stock Piglets cost approx $65 AUD. ($55 USD). Can you contribute a piglet to this new project?
Funding is also needed for a permanent water supply for Pon Jaak Faa Home – donations for this purpose can be selected on the drop-down menu below.
Fund for Income-Generating Projects:
BridgeWorks is currently developing projects that help the young people learn vocational and business skills, as well as providing employment and eventual financial independence.
Funding is needed to help set up a sewing project (at this stage, mostly to make bags to sell for export), and for a local food production project. It is envisaged that both these projects will become self-funded.
Funding is also needed for the development and equipping of a Workshop, which will provide training and employment opportunities in technical / mechanical / maintenance skills, etc.
Help with a one-off donation (“Donate” button), or select from the Options drop down menu and use the “Subscribe” button below to donate to this fund on a monthly basis.
Land Purchase – Baan Birk Faa:
The ethos of this home is to be a blessing to others and count on God to supply their own needs. They have been cultivating rice for 3 years now, and each year grow their own rice on rented land, as well as growing the seedlings to give to many other children’s homes.
All children and 2 houseparents live in a medium sized rented home. One of their dreams is to be able to grow their own food on their own land and be independent from the whims of landlords. A 17 rai (6.7 acres/2.7 hectares) piece of land which will allow this to happen has been contracted, and vendor financing is making it possible for BridgeWorks to purchase this over a 5 year period. Approx $200,000 (AUD) is needed for this purchase ($40,000 per year).
BridgeWorks Centre:
Funding is needed to help set up the BridgeWorks Centre. This includes day-to day running costs, such as rent, electricity, etc. It does not include wages for any-one. Initial costs for the Transition program are also needed, including the purchase of equipment, furniture and household items. Make a one-off donation to help with the set-up costs, or become a recurring sponsor to help meet the day-to-day expenses.
Gifts for Local (National) BridgeWorks Members:
BridgeWorks does not employ any-one. Members of BridgeWorks are doing what they do out of their own love, concern and sense of calling to this children’s ministry. We encourage gifts of love to show solidarity with these people who give up all personal ambition in order to minister and help these children. Please nominate your gift for one or more of the following:
House Parents of Children’s homes (you can nominate a particular home if you wish).
House Parents for the Youth Transition Program.
Pastoral Carer.
Children’s Pastoral Carer.
