Prem & Nit live in a small Lahu village within Chiangmai. Some of the children in this village do not have attending parents (they come and go with various seasonal jobs), and some parents work very long days for 6-7 days a week. Some of the children are itinerant ( they come and go with their parents as the parents follow employment prospects). All the families are very poor. Many of the children sell flowers on weekends and holidays to help buy food for their families.
Prem helps to care for these children by taking them to and from school, helping with homework each day, organising sports and other activities for them, holding weekly discipleship class, and caring for them on weekends and during school holidays. Prem and Nit have also taken 4 children into their own home that needed full-time care.
Nit currently works as a full-time cook to help support their household, and Prem provides a school run for a couple of the local schools.
