<div id="_mcePaste">initiative this rice season has been the purchase of a mill for the black rice &#8211; shared by BridgeWorks and River Crossing. The milling of the black rice cannot be done by the same type of mill that is used for white rice. (It can also be used to mill brown rice, which is worth more than if the rice is milled white). There are only a few places where the black rice can be milled commercially, and is is not unusual for the rice to be replaced by poorer quality or insect infested rice when taken to a commercial miller. So this is a good investment for the Children&#8217;s Homes. The teenagers have loved learning to use it! The Homes held a combined Harvest Festival at BridgeWorks on Father&#8217;s Day (King&#8217;s birthday in Thailand) in December, and the first batch of rice was milled on this day, amid much excitement!</div>
