Holiday Ice Cream

Learning about Planning

During the recent school holidays, some of the older BBF kids learned how to make icecream. A great deal of fun (and tasting!) was done by all, with lots learnt about what to do and what not to do! Some of the BridgeWorks youth also joined for the business training session.
The ice cream was sold off a make-shift cart in the local areas. The kids had a great time learning how to sell, earning holiday pocket money, and getting out into the community.

BridgeWorks plans to develop the Ice Cream business as one of the income-generating businesses for the Youth of BridgeWorks. If you would like to help with the purchase of equipment needed for this venture, please Donate via the Income Generating Projects Fund

Work Experience

During the last school summer break, most of the older children from Berk Faa had the opportunity to do various work experience placements. From helping in other children’s homes (with babies and handicapped children), to mechanics and a mobile phone shop. One of the older boys is now doing mechanical training at a technical college, and one of the older girls is working full time in the home for handicapped children.
